Burger King Classic

Saints Capture Third BK Classic Title
An exciting championship game that doubled as a track meet finished with Neumann-Goretti winning their third Burger King title, 107-91, over Prep. The Saints had five players in double figures and shot nearly 62% from the field. Allassane N'Diaye was a stud in this one with 41 points (tied for second-most in tournament history) to go with 18 rebounds (tied for sixth most). Kody Colson had 18 points. Deshawn Yates scored 16 points, while Ernest Stanton finished with 13. Marquis Newson chipped in 10 points. The Ramblers battled right with them and were paced by Michael Thompson who had 27 points and 10 boards. Nando Mirarchi had 21 points. Ashton Wilbur went for 19, while Ahmari Horton had 15.

In the opener, St. Ed's (OH) blew out Thurgood Marshall Academy (NY), 76-39. Bryan Vlosich had a great shooting night for the Eagles, going for 26 points in hitting seven of 10 shots. Carson Link had 12 points, while Eric Bush had 14 for the Panthers.

Night one of the Burger King Classic provided a slew of highlights as teams from three states competed in the 42nd edition of the tournament. In the opener, Neumann-Goretti had five players score in double figures as they stormed back to down St. Ed's (OH), 76-73. N'Diaye had 18 points. to lead the way. Colson scored 15 points, while Yates scored 14. Stanton had 12 points. Stephen Ashley-Wright went for 10 points. Ed's was paced by Vlosich's 27 points and JT Kelsheimer, who had 23.

In the nightcap, Prep started strong and never looked back in besting Thurgood Marshall Academy (NY), 92-75. The Ramblers moved to 15-0 as Nando Mirarchi paced the team with 26 points. Ahmari Horton had 25 points. Michael Thompson scored 23, while Ashton Wilbur had 14.
