Estus Barnes is a seasoned football coach with over 22 years of combined experience and a deep commitment to athlete development both on and off the field. In 2026, he made history as the first head coach of Women’s Flag Football at Cathedral Prep, leading the program in its inaugural season.
Coach Barnes brings 15 years of experience at the youth level, where he built a strong foundation in fundamentals, discipline, and mentorship. He also recently completed his seventh year as a wide receivers coach at Cathedral Prep, contributing to the Ramblers’ appearance in the 2020 state championship game.
Known for his passion and purpose-driven coaching style, Barnes is devoted to empowering the mind, body, and soul of young women and men. His impact extends beyond the game, focusing on building confidence, character, and leadership in every athlete he coaches.
Off the field, Coach Barnes is a proud father of six children—one currently enrolled at Cathedral Prep and another attending Mother Teresa Academy—further strengthening his connection and commitment to the student athletes and families he serves.
