Constable Retires as Prep Baseball Coach

Following seven very successful seasons as Prep's head baseball coach, Josh Constable has decided to step away from coaching. He led the Ramblers for six seasons of games played, losing the 2020 season to a COVID cancellation.

Constable amassed a record of 114-27 directing the baseball program, good for a .809 winning percentage. Over that time, he led Prep to six District 10 championships and four Region crowns. Perhaps his most important accomplishment was that he placed an incredible 27 of his Prep players into college baseball programs.

"Cathedral Prep is a special place with special people," Constable said. "Thank you to the administration for their vision of success and the opportunity to lead the baseball program. These last seven years have been some of the most influential times of my family's life, and of my professional life as a coach. Lastly, thank you to the players. You are why I coach. Your belief in our program being bigger than baseball will stand for years to come. Thanks for a wonderful ride."

"When we hired Josh seven years ago, he did exactly what he stated he would do and what we expected," said VP of Athletics Bill Flanagan. "He developed student-athletes into better baseball players and most importantly, better people. We owe him a huge thank you and though we are disappointed he will not be returning for an eighth season, we certainly understand and respect his decision."

A search for Constable's replacement will begin immediately. All interested applicants are asked to send a resume to Prep's VP of Athletics Bill Flanagan at bill.flanagan@cathedralprep.com.
